Helping the Animals

The Calgary Humane Society depends on donations from concerned animal lovers to run our vital programs and services. Donations make up more than half the Society’s annual $3 million budget. As a charity registered with Revenue Canada (Business Number 11882-3632-RR0001), we are able to receipt all donations over $10.

There are a number of ways to donate to the Calgary Humane Society. No matter which option you choose, you will help provide warm, safe beds, full food bowls, veterinary care and a chance for a better life for many grateful animals.

Although not part of the United Way, the Society can receive funds through their donor choice program.

A note to our donors: We value and respect you and do not share our mailing list with any other organization.

The Calgary Humane Society is the only Humane Society or SPCA working in Calgary to provide sheltering, enforcement and protection, and outreach programs for all companion animals. To ensure your donations support these programs, please contribute directly to the Calgary Humane Society. The Society does not receive funds from the Alberta SPCA, the Humane Society of Canada or the Canadian SPCA.

If you are asked to donate to the Canadian SPCA, please note that the Canadian SPCA does not serve animals in Alberta. It only serves the Montreal area. Although the Canadian SPCA organization fundraises through direct mail campaigns across Canada, all donations will be used in the Montreal area only .  The Canadian SPCA does not distribute revenues to other Humane Societies and SPCA's in Canada. Their letters do not explain that donations will go to Montreal and that the Canadian SPCA is not a national society. For further clarification please call 723-6001 or 723-6033.
