Your donations support the almost 10,000 companion animals that come through our doors each year. Thanks to our generous donors, we are able to provide these animals with quality care, a nourishing diet, a healthy environment and with a caring staff to keep it all working effectively. Your donations also support the Calgary Humane Society 's community outreach programs to benefit animals and people alike. For example:
- Protection: Our special constables investigate cruelty and neglect concerns.
- Violence Prevention Initiative: We provide education and awareness programs linking animal abuse and domestic violence, including a Pet Safekeeping and Emergency Boarding program for pets of families fleeing domestic violence and pets of people in crisis.
- Humane Education: We offer educational programs to children and the community to increase understanding, appreciation and caring for animals. Includes Dare to Care presentations at local schools, Camp Pet-a-Wow-Wow day and week long camps and the Kids for Animals Club.
- Behaviour: We offer a behaviour hotline, a variety of dog, cat and bunny training programs as well as behaviour seminars for the general public.

The Calgary Humane Society is the only Humane Society or SPCA working in Calgary to provide sheltering, enforcement and protection and outreach programs for all companion animals. To ensure your donations support these programs, please contribute directly to the Calgary Humane Society. The Society does not receive funds from the Alberta SPCA, the Humane Society of Canada or the Canadian SPCA.
Specifically, the Canadian SPCA rescues and helps animals in the Montreal area only. Although this organization fundraises through direct mail campaigns across Canada, all donations will be used only in the Montreal area . The Canadian SPCA does not distribute revenues to other Humane Societies and SPCA's in Canada. Their letters do not explain that donations will go only to Montreal and that the Canadian SPCA is not a national society. For further clarification please call 723-6001 or 723-6033.
Donate your Car to the Calgary Humane Society!
Through Donate a Car Canada you can donate your car to the Calgary Humane Society in support of our animals! All you have to do is complete the online donation form at www.donatecar.ca or call toll free 1-877-250-4904, selecting the Calgary Humane Society as the recipient charity. Donate a Car Canada takes care of all the necessary arrangements to pick-up and sell your car, truck, boat, or RV. They will send the proceeds from the sale to the Calgary Humane Society and we will send you a tax receipt. Even if your vehicle is not worth much, Donate a Car Canada may be able to help.
