Cat Run Instructions

SUPPLIES REQUIRED: (for a 16' long by 4' high run against house)
Stucco wire (52" x 50' roll, can be cut to length)
15 - 8' long spruce 2 x 2's
14 - 8' long 2 x 4's
2 small gate hinges
2 gate hooks
3 inch nails
staple gun and staples

Build a frame that rests against the house (should be a window opening into pen) with the 2 x 4s. The frame should consist of 3 4' x 4' squares (2 ends, one middle support) connected by 8 (4 top, 4 bottom) 8' 2x 4s (the wide part should lie flat).

Build four 4' x 8' panels (2 for the top (cats can climb!), 2 for the side) and two 4' x 4' panels (ends) from the 2 x 2s and stucco wire. For the 4 x 8 panels cut one 8' length in half for the end pieces and form frame with two 8 ' sections. For additional support two 4 lengths can be put in the middle of the two side panels. Attach the stucco wire with staples to the frame. At the bottom of the frame fold the excess stucco wire underneath to prevent cats from escaping from the bottom of the run. The two end 4' x 4' panels can be constructed by cutting two 8' sections in half.

Once the panels are built attach them to the frame with nails or hooks of some kind (for easy removal). There should be two 4' x 8' panels for the top, two 4' x 8' panels for the side (other side is the house) and two 4' x 4' end panels. One of the end panels should act as a door for entrance into the run by attaching with the hinges and using the hooks for closure. Ensure there are no openings from which cats can escape, especially against the house, excess stucco wire can be used to seal off these areas.
