House-Soiling (Cats) Check List

Use this checklist as you work to curtail your cat’s house soiling. Simply check off each item you have completed.

Vet check
Clean all soiled items with an urine enzymatic cleaner
Add additional litterbox(es), if needed (# of cats in house + 1)
Scoop litterbox(es) at least once a day
Use a litter with no fragrance
Uncover litterbox(es)
Put ½” of child’s play sand or dirt under litter
Put a pinch of catnip in each corner of each litterbox
Increase daily, interactive exercise
Use honeysuckle toys and avoid catnip toys
If cat is soiling in only one area, try to block area with foil or upside down carpet runner. Place drops of oil of citronella to deter cat from the area.
